Article 1 Consent to Collection of Personal Information and Collection Method
< edm Korean Global Campus > (โwww.edmkorean.comโ hereinafter โWebsiteโ) shall establish a procedure for allowing customers to click the button โAgreeโ to the terms & conditions of use, collection of personal information, and details of personal information used. Customers shall be deemed to have agreed to the collection and use of their personal information by clicking the โAgreeโ button.
Article 2 Personal Information Items Collected and Purpose of Using Personal Information
โPersonal Informationโ means information on living persons and refers to their names, resident registration numbers, or any other information that identifies such persons. (Even if such information alone cannot identify a certain person, such information that can be easily combined with other information and be used to identify such a person.)
The Website has the following purposes for collecting and using customersโ personal information:
Personal information of general members
- Time of collection: registration, Request for Quotation, E-mail Inquiries
- Mandatory collection items: e-mails, names, Passport No., Date of Birth, Gender, Phone Number, Visa Type, Emergency Contact, Interested Course, Start Date(For Course), Number of Weeks (For Courses), Accommdation, Number of Weeks (For Accommodation), Airport Service, Korean Level
- Optional collection items: Arrival Date / Time, Flight Number, Special Requests, etc
- Purpose of using personal information: registration processing, customer consulting for the use of services, and delivery of notices
- Retention period: Immediately deleted upon withdrawal of membership or retained for five (5) years for purchasing members
If you have order information (including members and non-members)
- Time of collection: Upon placing orders
- Mandatory collection items: Information of customers placing orders (name, address, telephone, and e-mail), information on recipient (name, address, telephone), payment approval information
- Optional collection items: Delivery of messages
- Purpose of using personal information: Payment and delivery of ordered products
- Retention period: Retained for five (5) years
Article 3 Collection of Personal Information via Cookies
The Website may install and operate cookies that store and frequently retrieve customersโ information. A cookie means a small amount of text files that a website sends to usersโ computer browsers (Internet Explorer, and others)
1) Purposes of using cookies
- Providing differentiated information, depending on individualsโ interests
- Analyzing the access frequency or staying time of users, identifying usersโ tastes and interests, and using them for target marketing and as a measure for service improvement
- Tracing the information on items purchased and items to which users pay attention, and providing tailor-made services
2) Operation of cookies and rejection of cookiesCookies are stored at the hard disk of usersโ computers. Cookies identify usersโ computers but do not personally identify users.
In addition, customers may accept or reject all cookies, or go through checks whenever cookies are stored by changing settings on their web browser.
However, if customers refuse to store cookies, they may not use some services that require them.

Article 4 Periods of Retaining and Using Personal Information and Destruction of Personal Information
1) Customersโ personal information shall be destroyed without any delay after the purposes of collection and use of their personal information have been fulfilled. However, if customersโ personal information needs to be retained for a certain period of time for the following purpose of verifying transaction partiesโ rights and obligations in accordance with provisions of relevant statutes, such as the Protection of Consumers in e-commerce and Other Transactions Act, such information shall be retained for the specified period:
A Article 6 of the Protection of Consumers in e-commerce and Other Transactions Act
- Records on contracts or withdrawal of offers: Retained for five (5) years
- Records on payments and the supply of goods: Retained for five (5) years
- Records on the resolution of customersโ complaints or disputes: Retained for three (3) years
B Article 15.2 of the Protection of Communication Secrets Act
- Log-in records: Retained for three (3) months
C Other related statutes
2) The Website shall destroy personal information in the following manner.
A. Destruction procedure-The information entered for membership sign-up shall be transferred to a separate database (in case of information on paper, a separate filing cabinet), stored for a certain period of time in accordance with internal guidelines and other relevant statutes, and then destroyed.
- The above personal information shall not be used for any purposes other than for the purposes stipulated by law.
B. Destruction methods-Personal information printed out on paper shall be destroyed by shredding or burning. - Personal information in electronic file format shall be entirely destroyed by technological methods so that they may not be restored or regenerated.
3) The Website shall give dormant members (who have not used services for the last twelve (12) months) a notice on the forfeiture of membership in accordance with Article 29.2 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. If such members fail to reply to such a notice, they may be considered to have forfeited their membership at the Websiteโs discretion. In such a case, dormant membersโ personal information may be stored and managed separately from other membersโ personal information. Such personal information that is separated and stored shall be destroyed after the lapse of the statutory retention period. In case a customer makes a request, then such a customerโs personal information that is not destroyed shall be made available again at the time of resuming the use of services.
Article 5 Provision of Personal Information for Third Parties
1) The Website shall neither use customersโ personal information nor provide such information for other persons, companies, and institutions beyond the scope of Article 1 above (Personal Information Items Collected and Purpose of Using Personal Information).
2) The following cases are exceptions.
A. When customersโ personal information is required by relevant institutions for investigative purposes in accordance with relevant statutes
B. When customersโ personal information is provided in a form that cannot identify certain individuals for advertisers, suppliers, or research organizations to compile statistics or conduct academic or market research
C. When customersโ personal information is requested in accordance with pre-determined procedures under other relevant statutesEven if personal information is provided in accordance with the foregoing, we do our best to ensure that such information is not indiscriminately provided against the original purpose of collection and use of such information.
Article 6 Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing
The Website outsources the processing of usersโ personal information to outside professional organizations as follows for the smooth conduct of businesses, such as provision of better services and customersโ convenience.

โป The information shared with outsourcing companies shall be limited to the minimum information required to fulfill the original purpose of outsourcing. In addition, optional personal information is provided for outsourcing companies at the request of customers for services.
โป The list of outsourcing companies may be subject to change, depending on changed services and contractual periods. Any change in this list shall be announced in advance via notices. Customers participating in short-term events shall be individually notified of such events.
Article 7 Withdrawal of Consent to Collection, Use, and Provision of Personal Information
1) Customers may withdraw their consent to the collection, use, and provision of their personal information at any time. They may also do so by contacting the chief privacy officer of the Website in writing, by telephone, or through e-mail. Then, the Website shall immediately take necessary measures, such as deletion of personal information. The Website shall immediately notify customers of such measures, including withdrawal of consent and destruction of personal information.
2) The Website shall take necessary measures to ensure that customers withdraw their consent (membership) to the collection of their information through an easier method than what they used to give their consent to the method of collecting personal information.
Article 8 Measures for Ensuring the Security of Personal Information
The Website shall take technological/administrative/physical measures required for ensuring the security of personal information in accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
1. Encryption of personal information
Usersโ personal information, including passwords, is stored and managed and is only known to the users who own that information. Important data is secured with separate features, such as the encryption and locking of files and transmitted data.
2. Technological measures against hacking
The Website shall install, regularly update, and check security porgrams to ensure that personal information is not leaked and damaged due to hacking or computer viruses. It shall also install systems in areas to which access from the outside is controlled, as well as technologically/physically inspect and block such areas.
Article 9 Protection of Personal Information of Children under Fourteen Years of Age
The Website deems the protection of childrenโs personal information in online environments to be also important. It does not allow children under fourteen years of age who require the consent of their legal counsel to apply for membership. If such childern sign up for the Website or provide their personal information due to the theft of their names and information or abuse of systems, then their legal counsels may exercise all rights.

Article 11 Modification of the Guideline on Personal Information Processing
This guideline on personal information processing shall take effect on its effective date. Any addition of change under statutes and this guideline, and deletion and correction of anything in this guideline shall be announced via notices seven (7) days prior to the effectuation of such addition, deletion, or correction.

Terms and coditions
KOREAN COURSE
- edm Korean Global Campus (โedmโ or โThe schoolโ) is a provider of Korean courses. All courses are offered subject to availability.
- By applying to study at edm Korean Global Campus, you agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions, which are subject to review by the edm and may be modified from time to time.
- If the application form is signed on behalf of the student, these terms and conditions are still applied.
1. Send your completed application form to info@edmkorean.com
2. We will confirm your signed application and issue a booking confirmation and invoice.
3. Please make your payment you have received the invoice from edm Korea. You must pay fees no later than 2 weeks before the start of the class, and you send full fees in Korean won.
4. Letter of Acceptance and receipt will be issued after your payment via e-mail. All details of your course will be sent to you 1 week prior to your course start date.
5. Please notify us immediately of any changes to your proposed course start date by contacting info@edmkorean.com.
6. Upon your arrival to the school on the first day, There is an Orientation. During the Orientation, our staffs will inform you about school policy and life in Korea. Your classes begin at 9:00am. Please arrive by 8:30am on your first Monday. It is important that all new students begin on a Monday.
ACCOMMODATION & PICK-UP SERVICE
1. If you have booked homestay or residence or mini studio accommodation, please arrive on Sunday. You should apply at least 4 weeks before your intended arrival in Korea to allow us plenty of time to find the most suitable accommodation for you.
2. Provide us with your flight details (flight number, date & time of arrival) at least 3 weeks before you arrive.
3. Accommodation and Pick-up details will be issued to the student after receipt of required fees. We will endeavor to release accommodation details 1 week prior to arrival.
4. Any special requirements must be notified to ed:m at the time of booking.
5. Full payment must be made to the School at the time of booking. No accommodation will be reserved until payment has been received.
6. All accommodation is subject to availability and ed:m reserves the right to make changes to your accommodation arrangement without advance notice due to emergency / circumstances beyond the Schoolโs control.
7. If the student extends their accommodation booking, the School cannot guarantee the same accommodation will be available for the extension period. If a change of accommodation is needed, the student is responsible for paying for transfer service to the new accommodation.
PAYMENT
1. When you have received an invoice, proceed to make the course payment to complete your registration. Registration fee is only for the first time of the registration.
2. To make full payment no later 2 weeks prior to your arrival and payment should be in Korean Won (KRW currency).
3. Payment must include all bank transfer charges (including intermediary bank charges).

CANCELATION AND REFUND POLICY
1. The registration fee is non-refundable.
2. Bank charge will be deducted from any refund made by edm via bank transfer.
3. Refund will be disbursed within 4 weeks of approval.
4. Cancellation by the student the course starting date :
All cancellation must be made in writing addressed to โCS Team โ edm Korean Global Campusโ before the course commencement date and take effect from date, we receive such notice. Cancellations are not effective until they are received in writing.
The following fees are Non-Refundable where applicable: Registration fee, Accommodation placement fee, Pick-up Fee
- Cancellations 28 days or more before the start date : 100% of the tuition is refundable. (except Non-Refundable Fee)
- Cancellations 21 days before the start date : Non-Refundable Fee + 30% of the tuition Fee (Accommodation Fee is not refundable.)
- Cancellations 14 days before the start date : Non-Refundable Fee + 50% of the tuition Fee (Accommodation Fee is not refundable.)
- Cancellations 13 days or less before the start date : Not refundable
5. If you defer the date of commencement of your course, then proceed to cancel your course prior to the new commencement date, the cancellation policy will apply from the initial course state date and not the deferred start date.
6. edm does not provide visas to students. edm can only provide students with relevant documents to obtain a working holiday visa, K-ETA, and other visas, but edm is not responsible for whether the documents are suitable for visa issuance.
7. When visa issuance is not possible or delayed, the general cancellation and refund policy will also apply. No exceptions to cases when admission is difficult due to natural disasters or personal illness.
8. If a student decides to finish the course early or discontinues the course once the course has started, no part of the course fees will be refunded or transferred.
9. If a student arrives late for the start of the course, misses classes through illness or holiday, or is asked to leave the School because of serious misconduct or poor attendance, no refund is possible.
10. If students do not provide details of the studentโs flight, arrival airport, arrival time the School will be unable to arrange transfer and no refund will Pick-up fee is not refundable.
If any transfer information changes, the School must receive the updated details in writing as least 72 hours before departure. Please note that if the School is unable to cancel the original transfer booking, the student will need to pay additional charges.
11. Refunds will only be paid in the same currency in which the fees were received.
12. edm may make reasonable variations to the delivery of programs (course times, teachers, timetables, classrooms)
13. edm reserves the right to charge an administration fee of KRW 100,000 each time course type, start date or type of accommodation is changed or postponed after confirmed the initial enrollment.
Public Holiday
1. edm will be closed on public holidays and do not make up for lessons missed on these dates.
2. There is no refund for lessons missed due to a public holiday.
3. All published course start dates fall on a Monday. If the Monday is a public holiday, the start date will fall on a Tuesday.
Reduction of Lesson
1. edm reserves the right to reduce or integrate classes due to insufficient number of students.
Expulsion
1. edm reserves the right to expel students for unacceptable or unlawful behavior or lack of attendance.
2. No refund and any unpaid fees become immediately payable. Students are responsible for the cost of repatriation.
3. When a student behaves in violation of the accommodation rules, the person in charge of the accommodation has the authority to expel the student. In this case, the student must follow the rules of the accommodation, and there will be no refund.
4. Students expelled from an edm are no longer eligible for edm housing.
5. edm has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, bullying and harassment in the classroom; Discrimination, bullying and harassment of any kind is unacceptable, against the law, and will not be tolerated.
6. Inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- disruptions to the learning environment (use of profanity, harassment, etc.)
- deliberate destruction, misuse, or theft of edm property or the property of fellow classmates
- violence or threats of violence towards persons or property of students or school staff
PRIVACY POLICY
1. By making a booking with edm Korea the student is agreeing to the storage and us of their information for edm Koreaโs purposes only.
2. The school will share studentโs personal details only with third party providers who are contracted to provide a specific service on behalf of edm Korea and require the information to perform their function (e.g. taxi transfers, accommodation providers). The school will pass on student details to Korea government agency es if legally required to do so.
3. The school may use photographs or videos taken during the course in promotional materials such as brochures, handbooks, websites and social networking sites.
4. Students agree that photographs, videos, or other works, as well as recorded or written testimonials; may be used, stored or transferred internationally by ed:m Korean Global Campus, for promotional purposes including printed and online marketing materials and on any social media network without further consent or notification.

LIABILITY
1. The school is not liable for damage resulting from circumstances beyond its control.
2. Students are unsupervised outside of class times, including travel between their accommodation and the school.
3. Students must pay for any damages caused by them to edm property or to property in which they are housed.
4. edm and its staff and representatives will not be liable for loss, damage or injury to persons or property howsoever caused, except where liability is expressly imposed by law.
RESPECTING YOUR PRIVACY
1. ed:m takes every precaution to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, you should note there are inherent risks associated with transmission of information via the Internet.
2. Students should make your own assessment of the potential risks to the security of your information when making a decision as to whether or not to transmit information to ed:m by electronic means.
